The kick-off meeting of METROFOOD-EPI (Early Phase Implementation) will take place in Freising (Munich) on 24 and 25 January. This new phase will allow METROFOOD-RI to become a fully integrated research infrastructure, centrally coordinated and with a legal, financial, and technical maturity necessary for its full implementation and the start of the operational phase. METROFOOD-EPI project has 4 objectives: supporting the creation of the legal entity managing the research infrastructure (RI), specifying the technical implementation of the service-oriented RI, consolidating its position in the European landscape, and ensuring long-term sustainability. All these aspects will be highlighted during the meeting, where the Work Package (WP) and related tasks and objectives will be presented. Group and Q&A discussion sessions were also planned in order to analyze the project in greater detail and to involve stakeholders in this exchange of views. These two days will be aimed at showing all the aspects related to the project, also involving both the project partners and stakeholders and making clearer some aspects such as RI's objectives, together with a well-defined roadmap that is in line with a view to long-term sustainability.
