In the framework of the 2024 IEEE International workshop on Metrology for Industry 4.0 & IoT (IEEE MetroInd 2024), that will be held in Florence (May 29-31/2024 ), sponsored by IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), it’s been proposed a Special Session focused on Sensors and Measurement Techniques for Food Quality and Safety in Industry 4.0.
Addressing these issues are among the objectives of the PNRR METROFOOD-IT project (https://www.metrofood.it/en/) which aims to strengthen the Italian Research infrastructure for Metrology and Open Access Data to support the agri-food sector. These topics are in fact, critical for human nutrition and health. That’s why it’s essential to develop techniques and accredited methods for food quality control in order to:
- Maximize productivity
- Obtaining high and safety food quality
- Reduce food fraud
- Greater customer satisfaction
Submissions are encouraged, but not limited to the following general areas:
- Measurement techniques;
- IoT sensors for agrifood applications also in point-of-need context;
- Electronic tongues/noses;
- AI in Instrumentation and Measurement for the agri-food sector.
Plus contributions that include chemical sensors, biosensors and physical sensing elements integrated with innovative data acquisition systems and data processing techniques for food quality and safety control are welcome.
The deadline for Extended Abstract Submissions is March 10, 2024. We would be grateful if you would consider submitting a paper to this Special Session.
Details for paper submission and author’s information can be found on the Call for Paper page of the Workshop Website .
Accepted papers will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore Digital Library.
