Crocus sativus L (saffron crocus) is a traditional cultivation in certain Mediterranean countries (Greece, Spain, Italy), Morocco and of vital importance for Iran, India and Afghanistan agricultural sectors. In the frame of the METROFOOD-EPI (funded by the EU), the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Greece (School of Chemistry, Laboratory of Food Chemistry & Technology) collaborates with the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran (Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Agrotechnology) & the Khorasan-Razavi Agriculture & Natural Resources Research and Education Center, Mashhad, Iran, to bring together producers and scientists to discuss the current situation of the Sustainability of Crocus sativus L. Cultivation in the World in the Era of Climatic Change in a series of webinars on the 16th and 17th May of 2024.
