iNEXT-Discovery / METROFOOD-RI - Call for 'agri-food' proposals!

It is our pleasure to announce our next external call for proposals! Together with the ESFRI project METROFOOD-RI we allow now applications to all iNEXT-Discovery structural biology facilities for projects that address agricultural and food research.

Projects can be submitted by academic and company researchers for any topic that benefits 'agri-food research' and with reference to any food chain, for instance for cereals, fruits, vegetables, dairy products, etc. Possible subjects one could think of: Structural biology and biophysics studies on plant, insect and food material (raw materials, process intermediates, isolated products)Reliable monitoring of metabolite turnover in response to agro-sustainable treatmentsIdentification of food allergensQuali-quantitative characterisation of natural toxicantsStudies of foodborne pathogens in raw materials, or newly generated toxicants and contaminants from food processingAssisted optimization of food processing conditionsStudies on novel foods from insects, algae, fungi, etc.Different NMR, cryo-EM, X-ray and biophysics methods can be requested. Projects will be peer-reviewed and prioritized and facility access is essentially free of costs. In case you have a suitable biological system please go here and register. Then, prepare your application following this link and start the title of your project with the words ‘Food-call: ’. Proposals for this call should be submitted before 30 November 2022!
